How to play
- Open the Grid in your browser — on a computer or a phone — and walk in as a guest. You arrive at Virtua Cada’s door in the Tech Park; the stairs are at the back of the lobby.
- Go up to level 1. Every lane has its own sofa and a scoring console: press E at the console (tap on a phone) to take the lane.
- Friends join the same lane, up to four; on your own, you can bowl against the house.
- On your turn, drag sideways to line up, then swipe up to bowl. Curve the swipe to hook the ball into the pocket.
- Wait for your turn on the lane’s sofa. The screen over each lane shows its scoreboard — and a short film for every strike, spare and gutter ball.
The game
Ten frames of ten-pin, scored the usual way: a strike scores ten plus your next two balls, a spare ten plus the next one, and the tenth frame gives a strike or a spare its extra balls.
When every lane is taken
When every one is taken, join the queue: when one frees up it is kept for you for 90 seconds. While nobody is waiting you can play again as often as you like; while people wait, a turn is one game.
Also in Virtua Cada
The games house has four floors: the Backlot and the Raceway on the ground floor, bowling on the first, pool and table tennis on the second, and fire bowls on the roof. See Virtua Cada.
