Hang out with friends online

The Grid is a free 3D city you walk into in your browser. Meet your friends there: play, watch, ride, listen — or invite them over to your place.

Walk in as a guest, nothing to download. A free account lets you talk to people and keep your name.

Things to do together

A private cabin on the Wheel

Book a time at the Wheel’s booth and invite up to three friends. For the twelve minutes of a turn the cabin is yours: walk about inside, sit on its benches, and only your group hears each other.

Have them over

Rent a home — an apartment, a loft or a penthouse — and invite your friends in. Inside, only the people you let in hear you. Turn your camera on, watch YouTube or live TV together on the smart TV, play the radio, or a game of pool if your home has a games room.

Someone who isn’t on TMS? Schedule a visit and send them a code link. See the homes free today.

Say hello

Greet the people you meet with a high five, a fist bump, a handshake or a hug.

Message and call your friends

Everyone in the Grid carries a phone. Send a Connect request to a friend, then message them and call them — voice or video, up to six on a call — wherever each of you is in the city: say where to meet, and share your spot so they can tap Take me there. Messages are end-to-end encrypted. More about the phone.

Around the city

Questions people ask

Where can I hang out with friends online for free?
In the Grid, a free 3D city in your browser: play pool, bowling or table tennis, ride the Wheel, watch a film, pick songs on a jukebox, or walk the beach together. Walking in costs nothing.
Do my friends need an account?
No — they can walk in as guests. A free account lets you talk to people and keep your name.
Can we talk privately?
Yes. Inside your own home, or in a Wheel cabin you booked, only your group hears each other.
Does it work on a phone?
Yes. The Grid runs in the browser on a computer or a phone — on a phone you walk with a thumbstick and tap instead of pressing E.
Can I invite someone who isn’t on TMS to my home?
Yes. Schedule a visit and send them a code link; they come in at the time you set.
Can I message my friends when we’re not in the same place?
Yes. Everyone in the Grid carries a phone: with a free account, message your connections and call them, voice or video, from anywhere in the city. Messages are end-to-end encrypted, and only your connections can reach you.

It’s open now. Walk in as a guest — no download, no account.
